Dr. Josephine Korchmaros and colleagues working on the Medication Adherence, Health Literacy, and Cultural Beliefs (RxHL) Study lead by Dr. Susan Shaw from the UA’s Department of Anthropology have been busy presenting project findings. Since the project start they have presented on (1) Medication Adherence, Health Literacy and Cultural Health Beliefs in a Massachusetts Community Health Center at the Health Literacy Annual Research Conference, Bethesda, MD (November, 2014); (2) RxHL: Health Literacy and Medication Adherence Among Community Health Center Patients with Chronic Disease at the National Association of Community Health Centers Community Health Institute and Expo, Orlando, FL (August, 2015); (3) Association between Social Stress and Medication Adherence among Diverse, Low-income Patients with Chronic Disease at a Community Health Center at the American Public Health Association Annual Meeting, Chicago, IL (November, 2015); (4) Cultural and Translation Challenges in Assessing Health Literacy in Four Language Groups: The RxHL Study at the Health Literacy Annual Research Conference, Bethesda, MD (November, 2015); and (5) The Burden of Cost: A Mixed-Methods Approach Exploring Differences in Cost as a Barrier to Medication Adherence at the American Anthropology Association Annual Meeting, Denver CO (November, 2015).
