Dr. Sara Shuman, Associate Research Professor at SIROW, is part of a team with a newly published study in The International Journal on Homelessness about the impacts of extreme heat on people experiencing homelessness. The paper, “Extreme Ambient Health and Homelessness in the United States: A Scoping Review,” provides a critical summary of 18 published studies and highlights the need for more research between heat and homelessness.
