In March 2022, SIROW researchers Claudia Powell and Stephanie Murphy submitted their report, Pima County Domestic Violence Community Needs Assessment to the Pima County Behavioral Health Department. The assessment, conducted in collaboration with the Pima County Domestic Abuse Coalition, utilized focus group discussions with people who have experienced domestic violence (DV) and interviews with DV prevention and intervention service providers to identify how well existing DV-related services are currently functioning areas of unmet need, and the feasibility of new models for community service provision in the area of domestic and intimate partner violence. These findings will be used to aid in the planning of advocacy efforts among Domestic Abuse Coalition members and the broader Tucson/Pima County community.
