SIROW faculty member Dr. Jill Williams recently published an article in Progress in Human Geography with colleague and collaborator Dr. Kate Coddington (SUNY-Albany). The paper, entitled "Relational Enforcement: The family and the expanding scope of border enforcement", draws on research conducted as part of a National Science Foundation-funded project exploring the use of public information campaigns as a form of border enforcement in the US and Australia. Williams and Coddington argue that more attention should be paid to the way in which contemporary border enforcement practices target families--as opposed to individual migrants--and the reverberating effects these forms of relational enforcement have. The article can be accessed at https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/03091325211044795 or by contacting Dr. Williams at JillMWilliams@arizona.edu.
