WISE Director Awarded Haury Fellowship

WISE Director, Jill Williams, receives two-year fellowship from the Haury Program in Environment and Social Justice.  Dr. Williams will use the funds provided through the fellowship to complete a research project on social justice-based environmental science educational programs with Dr. Sara Tolbert from the UA College of Education.  Read the full story HERE.

Girls Who Code Completes Successful Spring 2017 Semester

Girls Who Code is a nationwide program with a single mission: to close the gender gap in technology. This year, WISE completed its first semester of a Girls Who Code club at the University of Arizona. Hosted on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon, this year six girls ages 12-18 signed up as the first cohort. SIROW/GWS Staff Support Campus Efforts to Fight Hunger

Senior Business Manager Terry Mullin (SIROW, Gender & Women’s Studies) supported “Stuff the Cat Tran,” an annual event to benefit the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Coordinated by the Classified Staff Council, efforts this year totaled 3,798 pounds of food and $7,915 in campus and online donations. Thank you, Terry!
