Maya Salas

Senior Instructional Specialist

Maya Salas joined SIROW in 2023 as a Senior Instructional Specialist for Project CHANGE, a program dedicated to increasing gender nontraditional enrollment within K-12 career and technical education programs across the state. Maya leverages her lens as a former public-school teacher to enhance program facilitation and school partnerships. With a double master’s in education and instructional design, Maya is dedicated to innovating program services through culturally relevant facilitation methods.

In addition to her work with Project CHANGE, Maya also supports SIROW’s Women in Science and Engineering Program (WISE) as a program coordinator. She develops program curriculum and guides WISE student interns as they engage underrepresented communities in STEM educational experiences. Maya is enthused to participate in meaningful outreach programs that bridge barriers between local communities and collegiate institutions. She looks forward to paving enduring pathways that facilitate the exchange of resources and social capital between UA and its surrounding communities.
